3 Ways to Help the People of Japan

By Ron Pereira Published on March 15th, 2011

If you haven’t already considered it… I’d encourage you to make a donation to help the people of Japan.

There are many ways to help including the following 3 options.

The Red Cross

First, one of the easiest ways to help is through the Red Cross.  In the USA you can text “Red Cross” to 90999 and $10 will be automatically charged to your phone bill as a donation.

iTunes

If you have an iTunes account you can easily make a donation that way as well.

Prayer

Finally, no  matter if you are able to donate financially, please pray for the men, women, and children of Japan.

I actually recommend NOT giving money to the Red Cross, who has an atrocious track record of hoarding money given for specific disaster relief causes. Despite the cholera crisis in Haiti and the keen need for food and shelter in the first months, the Red Croos has not spent about 70% of the $430M they’ve been donated for Haiti relief.

The International Rescue Committee is a better bet.
