Former Toyota Exec Speaks

My friend Pete Abilla (author of the Shmula blog – now creator of a site that can help you find a math tutor and more) often reminds us that, during his time at Toyota, the phrase “respect for humanity” was used, not “respect for people.”  Along these lines Pete sent me this link.

It is an interesting interview with Jim Press.  For those who don’t know, Mr. Press used to be a top Toyota USA Executive.  This past year he left Toyota to become President and Vice Chairman of Chrysler.

Ron Pereira

Ron has more than 20 years of experience in various manufacturing, supply chain, and senior leadership roles. Ron has held the titles of process engineer, engineering manager, master black belt, and director of manufacturing & continuous improvement. In 2002 Ron was the first American to win the Nokia Global Six Sigma and Overall Quality award in Helsinki, Finland. Ron holds a bachelor's degree in automated manufacturing and an MBA in technology management.
